Dr. Heather Dean is the audiologist at Sierra Nevada Hearing Aid Center (SNHAC). Dr. Dean is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology. She loves helping people improve their hearing and part of what makes her so good at her job is that she takes the time to listen to her patients.
Fate seems to have played a role in this pairing, as the undergraduate program Dr. Dean was originally in at the University of Nevada, Reno, was closing. That meant she had to choose a new one, which ultimately guided her down the path of audiology. Now with nearly 10 years practicing at SNHAC, there’s no question about it: Dr. Dean chose the right path.
Clear-cut treatment plans that can be developed from science and technology are what attracted Dr. Dean to the audiology specialty. In her practice, she focuses on hearing aid fittings, adjustments and training in the use of hearing aids for people of all ages. She also does aural rehabilitation, which is fancy talk for retraining the brain to use the aids.
Caring for her customers and working to meet their needs is what Dr. Dean is all about. She works with patients as much as necessary to make sure they are happy and comfortable with their hearing and their hearing solution.
Dr. Dean earned her Doctor of Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2005. She joined Sierra Nevada Hearing Aid Center shortly after in 2006 and now sees patients in three different locations, as well as at all three Sierra Nevada Ear, Nose & Throat locations. http://www.sierranevadahac.com/locations
